It has taken over the legal discourse and societal debate over the last 24 hours. A draft opinion by the Supreme Court of the United States with rationale that will overturn Roe v Wade if it becomes final. At the time of this article, there is no record of a leak of this magnitude ever in the history of the highest court. The internet and the airwaves are a buzz over the content of the draft. While the opinion will have effects of magnanimous proportions on society and women's rights, we cannot ignore that the document was leaked.
It does not matter your political ideologies, the Supreme Court should be respected. If you have cognitive dissonance then seek other employment. This raise the question trust. One must ask themselves, what was the purpose of leaking this draft? Was it to incite a riot or was it simple activism because they heard actual discussions of judicial activism? Is this straight out of the movies?
This article is not to render an opinion on why it was leaked but to have society not get distracted on the micro issues but pay attention to the larger issues at play concurrently.
